Walkin' Song

Got my same old pair of sandals on
Even though the leaves are all gone
People stop me and they say, "Girl, get some real shoes on"

But I'm fine, I smile, my toes won't freeze
Everybody's walkin' faster than me
But it's alright, I love the sunlight

And the colder the air the more it feels clean
Like the middle of winter, you know what I mean?
And it's alright, and I'm walkin' on

And I'm walkin'
Yeah this is my walkin' song
And I don't care
If it's fifty miles long
I'm lookin' around
And I'm watchin' my feet on the road as I go,
Rollin' thoughts in my mind,
Rollin' thoughts in my mind

Got a lot to think about at nineteen
The sky, the trees, and last of all me
Where'm I goin', where's this dream takin' me?

And my hands are cold but my soul it stays warm
I guess it keeps my heart furnace on
When the people I see stop to smile back at me

And the moon's up to count the hours 'til dawn
I know it won't be dark before long
So I turn myself around, walkin' back on that same ground

And I'm walkin'
Yeah this is my walkin' song
And I don't care
If it's fifty miles long
I'm lookin' around
And I'm watchin' my feet on the road as I go,
Rollin' thoughts in my mind,
Rollin' thoughts in my mind

    And I hope
With all the good times that I've had
    That down this road
    There's even better ones ahead

And even as I take off my coat,
Slip off my shoes, I do
Still feel the feel of the road, as if it were new

And I know
It won't be long
'Til so many thoughts come, that to sort them all will call for motion

And I'm walkin'
Yeah this is my walkin' song
And I don't care
If it's fifty miles long
I'm lookin' around
And I'm watchin' my feet on the road as I go,
Rollin' thoughts in my mind,
Rollin' thoughts in my mind

Said I'm walkin'
Yeah this is my walkin' song
And I don't care
If it's fifty miles long
And I'm lookin' around
And I'm watchin' my feet on the road as I go,
Rollin' thoughts in my mind,
Rollin' thoughts in my mind

Just rollin' thoughts in my mind,
Mmm hmm.
