Thursday Night
Feel like a Thursday night
With the weekend comin' on
Don't wanna be the one
Who's always goin' home
Before the night is done
And I'm sittin' here on the couch
With a drink up to my lips
I'd much prefer a kiss
But I forgot how one begins,
I forgot how one begins
Oh, and if I can't make the light myself
I go lookin' somewhere else
Though I know, and I've heard the words from me,
That's the last place it'll ever be
And sometimes I just go
Absolutely still
Let the people have their fill
Of the words that swirl and billow
Landin' where they will
It's not that I don't have
Something real to say
I'm just waiting for the day
When someone looks my way,
When someone looks my way
Oh, and if I can't make the light myself
I go lookin' somewhere else
Though I know, and I've heard the words from me,
That's the last place it'll ever be
And I have heard them say,
You can shake this feelin'
when it sets in.
Aw, but you know me--
I can't risk believin'
once again
And so if I can't make the light myself
I'll go lookin' somewhere else
Though I know, and I've heard the words from me,
That's the last place it'll ever be
Go home...
Don't go home.
Go home, girl...
Don't go home.
