Riding West

I have run the wide country and I don't know what else to say,
I have been to the palace and I've climbed the towers they've
         set in our way

And I don't know where you will be when I find you
but find you I will someday,
And I promise, I'll hold your heart
if you'll give it away

I have hired a steed of the mightiest speed, shod in spun gold,
And I've loaded the saddle with all of the rations, and love
         it can hold

And I don't know where you will be when I find you
but find you I will someday,
And I promise, I'll hold your heart
if you'll give it away
,
if you'll give it away

Though the weather's been rough and the trail has been tough
I've not measured the distance I've traveled,
And high o'er the cliffs the kind west wind lifts me up
And assures me my nerve will not come unraveled
    (No....)

Up until now I've always been the one who can spin a good tale
Now I am riding west with the wind
to prove that love can prevail

And I don't know where you will be when I find you
but find you I will someday,
And I promise, I'll hold your heart
if you'll give it--

Oh, I don't know where you will be when I find you
but find you I will someday,
And I promise, I'll hold your heart
if you'll give it--

I promise I'll hold your heart
If you'll give it--
I promise I'll hold your heart
If you'll give it away.
